  • Manufactured by: Lulu Organics
  • No water needed to use.
  • "This beautiful-yet-functional hair powder fluffs, volumizes, and freshens even the most in-desperate-need-of-a-wash hair. Dust a bit into your palm - a little goes a long way - then dip your fingertips into the powder and ruffle them through your roots.... And we love the faded, art nouveau-esque package that's silk-screened by a tiny company in Vermont." -Lucky Magazine
  • Best Dry Shampoo for Dry Hair, New Beauty magazine. "With an earthy, natural smell, I prefer this powder over aerosol dry shampoos."

Underpowered powder

This powder does a decent job of absorbing excess oil or creating some grip for styling when used in small doses for small jobs. If I don't shampoo my hair, I can not rely on this product to keep me looking fresh throughout the day if I wear my hair down. I've found that this powder works best for day-1 styling and extending blow dries; it is much more effective in preventing excess oil than fighting it once it builds up.

The texture is slightly gritty and does not add much volume. It will perk up your 'do a little but will not add significant volume (hint: try an aerosol). I've seen other powders perform better. I've used a few different scents: vetiver/black pepper is my favorite (if a little woodsy smelling); the patchouli/amber comes off a bit too musky, and the sage/lavender is a pleasant herbal scent. The fragrance does linger in your hair! The contents of the bottle do go quite a ways, but for the quality of the product I think the price is a bit high.

This powder doesn't show up at all on my black hair. It does look at little bit grey when I use too much but it looks fine again as soon as I brush it out. I try to only use products containing organic(if possible) and natural ingredients so this is perfect if you're worried about that sort of thing :)No aerosol makes me happy as well. I also suffer from Celiac disease and although nothing says this product is gluten free, there are no ingredients containing gluten and I haven't had any negative reaction at all. Lastly, the smell is lovely. It smells like jasmine(obviously) and a little bit like straw or hay. You really can't go wrong with this.
